Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse to Open Soon

It’s been about a year and a half since we first noted that Ruth’s Chris would be opening early in 2008. Well, it’s going to be late in the year before it comes to fruition, but open it will, probably in October, according to management. The prime quality steaks, from tenderloin to porterhouse, cut thick and seared at 1800 degrees to preserve juiciness,  then topped with butter for more sizzle,  are legendary among well-heeled corporate moguls from Hawaii to Florida. Housed in the beautiful old Morning News building, at 111 W. Bay St. , the restaurant will be the cornerstone of News Place.
