Thanksgiving at The Melting Pot

Looking for an interesting (and delicious) place to spend Thanksgiving Dinner?  How about The Melting Pot on Broughton Street?  They’ll be open from 2pm-8pm and will be serving their regular menu along with some Thanksgiving inspired dishes.  They’ll offer cranberry walnut cheddar cheese fondue, “Tur-duc-ken” entree, white chocolate pumpkin pie fondue and white chocolate apple pie fondue.  Not quite your traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but it sure sounds tasty to us!

Forget cooking on Turkey-Day!

If you’re among the legions that hate cooking Thanksgiving Dinner, we’ve got a couple of options for you (and probably more to come).  Blowin’ Smoke is offering smoked turkey with all the trimmings; so is Johnny Harris, 354-7810.  Blowin’ Smoke is making deliveries, but doubt it will deliver too far away, so better call and find out if you’re in their delivery area,  231-2385.  In both cases, get your dinner the day before the Big Event!

Thanksgiving at EOS

We can vouch for the excellence of EOS’ Thanksgiving dinners!  Went there last year for Turkey Day dinner, and were amazed to find it the all-time best turkey dinner ever!  I had only been to restaurants a very few times in decades of gobbling gobblers, all upscale fine dining establishments which left us disappointed at best.  Personally, I’d always thought my own, Gran Marnier-herb-butter-basted bird the world’s best (no modesty from me regarding turkey!), and had had many fine dinners at others’ homes, but EOS won the Grand Prize!  Here’s their line up for Thanksgiving Dinner:

Butternut squash for the first course, followed by your choice of roasted turkey with cornbread stuffing and a cranberry cream sauce, or prime rib with a horseradish jus.  All courses will be accompanied by your choice of side, and don’t forget dessert, baked apples in a puff pastry with Chantilly sauce.  Yum!

EOS will be open for only one seating at 1pm.  The cost is $30 per person with an optional wine pairing for $15 dollars extra.  To make your reservation, call 912-238-2400.
