New Thai Restaurant Bursts with Flavor!

Open for about a month, P. J. Thai Cuisine, at 147 Abercorn, tel: 201-3534, is already garnering devoted fans. Last night,  a Monday, when restaurants are typically slow, this place was bustling.   My companion and I decided to give it a try.  The Swimming Rama is a bed of perfectly sauteed spinach and delicate bean sprouts topped with a rich and creamy peanut sauce.  The dish comes with your choice of chicken, pork, beef or tofu. I chose the tofu, not due to any veggetarian inclinations (I’m a confirmed carnivore), but simply because  I adore tofu, and this did not disappint!  The portion is large, accompanied by an equally large portion of perfect rice.  My companion had the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The chicken was flavorful and moist, served with pineapple, celery, carrots, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes and bell peppers, all carefully sauteed in an excellent sweet and sour sauce.   This dish too was abundant and served with an abundant portion of rice.   Every bite we ate was bursting with flavor.  No doubt, I’ll be back many a time!     The restaurant is tiny (6 tables inside; 3 tables outside, but with a mighty menu of 45 items, including appetizers, salads, soups, curried dishes, entrees, noodle dishes, and half a dozen varieties of fried rice dishes.
