A Simple and Delicious Mother’s Day Dinner

During the years I lived in Italy, Mother’s Day was a big feast day, and probably the only time that Mama (whoever was the eldest mama) didn’t cook for the whole family on Sunday. On Mother’s Day, someone else took over. Italian cooking was always good, easy and simple, especially in Rome, where I lived during most of those years. And Saltimbocca alla Romana was a favorite dish of mine and of most Romans.  For a delightful repast of this delicate veal dish, just click http://www.savannahbest.com/cooking/cooking.htm

And give the mother in your life a very happy day!

Meet Chef Diego

diegoj.jpg

I discovered Chef Diego at a recent dinner party.  Chef Diego is a personal chef and caterer specializing in Italian cuisine.  He hails from North Italy, and after years cooking aboard the yachts of the rich and famous (Sharon Stone and Robert Dinero to name a few), he has settled into Savannah.  I was treated to his Eggplant Parmesan…(the best I’ve ever consumed, .a pasta medley with zucchini, and a veal scaloppine with mushrooms in a white wine sauce.  All of which he will gladly show you how to prepare.  One thing he won’t share…his award winning recipe for Tiramisu…but I consider myself honored for having tried a bit.   Hungry yet?  Take a look at this spread…

If you’d like to hire Chef Diego for your own private event, let me know and I’ll put you in touch.  — Heather Young.
