Rancho Alegre offers Cuban Food with Pizzazz!

From time to time, we get calls and notes from folks who say Cuban food is  boringly bland.  The perfect antidote to Cuban blandness is Rancho Alegre. Here, they’ve injected hints of Spain and Creole, plus a bit of Basque, to create Cuban Cuisine with Attitude.  For instance, the Mero en Salsa Verde (Grouper in Green Sauce), although not especially spicy, definitely has spunk. The fish is poached, Basque-style in the bright, sprightly, parsley-garlic-wine-oil sauce, and surrounded with rice, delectable black beans, and plump sweet plantains. Or, with at least two hours notice, you can get the traditional dish of Spain, Paella Valenciana.
