Hendry Wine Dinner at EOS

Beer & Spicy Food Pairing

October 20th, at Sol, hosted by Tim Rutherford.  6:30pm, $50.  Foods prepared by Shelley Smith and George Parker will be paired with beers by Tim Rutherford.  Enjoy bites such as Sauted Shrimp, Smoked Scallop, fried plantains, and braised flank steak.  Oh and don’t forget dessert!  Chocolate Cayenne Ice Cream with Macadamia Churros and Savannah Bee orange blossom honey.  YUM!  1801 Habersham St., 232-1874.

Foody Tours fun for all!

Whether you’re a Savannah native, newcomer or visitor, the Walking Foody Tour should be fun for all devoted foodies. A two-hour munching stroll around Savannah will take you to eight different restaurants and specialty shops around our lovely  city.  Starts at 1 pm, Monday through Saturday, at the Wright Square Cafe, 21 W. Second Saturday Soiree…Fall Wine Preview

Second Saturday at Eos, always delightful events, promises to be particularly enticing this month.  “Wines from around the world”  are featured, including those from Oregon, Argentina, France, Australia, Spain, Italy and California.  Each wine will be paired with a delectably appropriate cheese! Love Genuine Mozzarella? Here it is!

August 19 at the beautiful Dresser Palmer House, Mozzarella will be king for the night.  Starting with cocktails at 7 pm and dining at 8 pm,  you’ll sample Nodini Handmade Smoked Mozzarella, Mozzarella Fiore di Latte, Mozzarella di Bufala and Fresh Ricotta, along with  dinner by Chef Roberto Leoci. $45.   Reservations: 238-3294

The second annual Savannah Craft Brew Fest 2009 Tasting shouldn’t be missed by foodie nor sipper!  Event starts at 1 pm on Sat., Sept. 5,  at the Savannah International Trade andConvention Center.  For folks who appreciate the perfect craftbrew, and good eats to boot,  head on over. You get live music as well. $35 in advance; $40 at the door.

Italian Romance at Eos on Thurs., July 16

Eos will host Annalisa Battuello, founder/owner of the Italian winery, Il Tenuta I Quaranta, straight from Piemonte, with a five course dinner created by Chef Wes Long to pair with I Quaranta’s fine wines.  A few words from Battuello herself:  “Life deserves to be lived well. Enjoyed and colored. With people around and new relationships being  built. Life is a place for interaction. It is a place for true emotion. It is a place for something bigger than individualistic selfishness. Tenuta  I Quaranta is my dedication to life.”    This very special evening  will be $65 per person. Reserve early!
