Salsa Night at Sol… Aug. 30

Bar-Food is Rockin’

Dropped into Bar-Food a few days ago. It was only 4 pm, a time at which I rarely quit the work day, but it had been a long and hectic and stressful day and I was parched. Bar-Food,  which opens precisely at 4, held the promise of  great libations and tempting tidbits, beckoned. Collapsed into a comfortable chair in the pleasantly breezy shade right outside, I ordered a Marguerita and my companion a beer. We added an Olive Tapenade for him and Blue Chips, fresh and crispy potato chips slathered in a mix of blue and brie cheese, for me.  All were delicious, unique, light and refreshing. Just the anecdote to a grueling Friday!  TGIF! I toasted, ordering another of those delighfully fresh-made Margueritas. And we sample a couple of Kimchi–one with pickled radishes; the other with pickled cukes. Both moist and wonderfully spicy with a tomato-sesame-hot pepper sauce. During the hour we spent, the place had a steady stream of customers arriving, all appearing to be young professionals from nearby offices or perhaps from further distances enroute to their Ardsley Park domains.     Clearly, Johnny Baker’s latest venture is, as his always seem to be, a rousing success!  Go for it! You’ll love it!

Eos Second Saturday Wine Soiree

Eos (and Sol as well) Second Saturday Wine Soiree

The July 11 Wine Soiree will continue this month’s  Independence Day celebrations with a block party of sorts, starting at Eos and continuing North to Sol. An all-American celebration, they’ll feature wine & weiners at Eos, and beer & BBQ at Sol.  Hot-weather American wines to be served at Eos and boutique beers at Sol. A grand cookout at both restaurants will hsve “beer & brats” for outdoor summertime fun! $40. Whiskey Tasting at Molly MacPherson’s

Friday, May 8,  from 5 to 6 pm,  Molly MacPherson’s Scottish Pub & Grill will host a Whiskey Tasting for the 33rd Annual Savannah Scottish Games (held on Sat. May 9, at the  Bethesda Home for Boys). Sample 5 different Single Malts and compare notes wsith Scotch afficieanado. $20 in advance; $25 at the door.  Do arrive on time! BTW, Molly MacPherson’s has the largest selection of single malts in Southeast Georgia!

Friday,  Jan. 23, starting at 6:30 pm, Blowin’Smoke owner, Brian Huskey, and Savannah Distributors,  will feature Beer and BBQ!  A plate of Pulled Pork BBQ, Beef Ribs,  plus two sides, and you get to sample five different craft beers, al for $25.
