Wine Bar/Restaurant to open in Thomas Square neighborhood
EOS, opening for brunch this coming weekend (Apr. 26 & 27) promises to be the latest bloom in the blossoming wine and food experience in Thomas Square. No wine this weekend because their licensing isn’t yet finalized, but we’ll all get a chance to sample some wonderfully good eats, judging by the new menu.
Brian Torres, who currently oversees the lovely wine list at Sapphire Grill, and his girlfriend, Shelley Smith, who used to own Venus de Milo, have nearly completed an impressive rennovation of the old soul food place at 1801 Habersham. Eos, meaning the Goddess of the Dawn (Smith is sticking to her Greek goddess names) will be serving a fine selection of wines and “small plates,” ranging from salads through mini-entrees, a lavish cheese board, and some yummy sounding desserts.
With a little bit of luck, the wine bar will be open by May 3rd, just in time to celebrate the Kentucky Derby!
